What is it like to work at Kredinor?

Get to know some of our people. They might become your future colleagues!

“It’s important to follow your passion and always give more than 100%”

Meet Anmol: Our CIO, who has progressed from a summer analyst to top executive, and who is facing all challenges head-on

1. Can you give a brief description of what you do and what your responsibilities are?

I have a dual role as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Managing Director (MD) at Kredinor Finans (KFI). As CIO, I am responsible for the purchase of portfolios in Norway, Sweden, and Finland, and for ensuring that they perform according to the business case. As MD, I am responsible for the daily management of KFI, which is Kredinor’s financial (subsidiary) company in Norway, where all portfolios in Norway are purchased.

We buy NPL portfolios (non-performing loans), which is one of the two core businesses of Kredinor, the other being our CMS (credit management services) business.

2. Can you tell us a little about your career journey in the company, from where you started to your current role?

I started as a summer analyst at Kredinor while I was in the final year of my master’s degree at BI in 2016. Since then, I have held several different roles, including analyst, investment analyst, Head of investments, Nordic investment director, and now CIO and Managing Director. It’s been an exciting journey, where I’ve been involved in two mergers, establishing a strong investment team, and participating in the establishment and purchase of our portfolios in Sweden and Finland.

I have learned an incredible amount from experienced colleagues, clients, and other key stakeholders that I have worked closely with throughout various processes. This learning has been invaluable, providing me with insight into strategic, financial, and operational challenges. Collaborating with different professional environments has helped me develop new perspectives, solve complex problems, and understand how different parts of the business can work together to achieve common goals.

3. Do you have any advice for others who would like to grow within the company?

It is very important to follow your passion and always give more than 100%. By this, I mean you should strive to go beyond what is expected of you. This is only possible if you truly love your job and are passionate about delivering – as I have been since I started at Kredinor. Always think about the challenges your company, your boss, and your colleagues face, and how you can proactively help solve them, even if it’s not technically your job. Take on challenges; it helps you build new skills beyond what you learn in your everyday tasks.

It’s important to build technical skills, but equally important is having soft skills and good emotional intelligence. Many tasks require collaboration with other people and teams, so it’s about how you communicate, coordinate, and ask or answer questions in a way that makes you stand out.

Always be open to learning something new. I completed the CFA certification (Chartered Financial Analyst studies from the U.S.) while working full-time at Kredinor. It has provided me with a solid financial network and helps me stay up to date with changes in financial and regulatory environments and how these can impact Kredinor and my work.

“We, as advisors, are here to help”

Meet Kaltrina: The Advisor with a heart for inclusion and the customer.

1. Can you provide a brief description of what you do and what your responsibilities are?

I work as an advisor at the contact center in Operations, which is the core operation of the company. I have daily contact with customers and other external parties to resolves various issues. I also work closely with my people leader, helping her to contact clients, contributing to the training of new employees, and acting as a deputy for my leader when needed.

2. What do you find most rewarding about your job?

What I find most rewarding is the opportunity to make our customers’ day a little easier. When people hear the word “debt collection” I understand they might feel scared, but we, as advisors, are here to help. We aim to provide the best solution so that the customer can move forward. It gives me a good feeling when I hear that customers are grateful for the help they received and feel more at ease in their situation.

3. How would you describe the culture in the company?

We have a very inclusive culture at Kredinor, this is very evident within the company. We have people of all nationalities, genders, and ages. It’s enjoyable, and I feel very comfortable knowing that everyone feels included. It doesn’t matter what position you hold or what team you work in—we are all well integrated, and I think this creates a very good work environment. I commute a considerable distance to work, but I do this because I enjoy coming to the office and working with my colleagues.

“My role contributes to my colleagues having a more interesting everyday life”

Meet Mari: The Business Developer with extensive experience in the core business.

1. Can you provide a brief description of what you do and what your responsibilities are?

I currently work as a Process Analyst/Business Developer for the Process Automation team in Digital & Technology. Some of my responsibilities include identifying and evaluating processes that can be automated, streamlined, or optimized to provide the best possible business value for Kredinor, both in terms of cost savings and increased revenue. I am responsible for facilitating workshops, mapping, and designing processes. This work involves a considerable amount of communication with colleagues across the company and external stakeholders. Additionally, I work extensively with documentation, testing, and managing existing processes.

2. What do you find most rewarding about your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my job is being able to improve the daily work life of my colleagues. We can automate processes that employees do not find fulfilling but still need to be completed. We can ensure that necessary information is available for advisors when they need it, and we can automate tasks to be completed at the same time each day to prevent important work from piling up. Furthermore, it’s rewarding to look at processes and teams with fresh eyes, offering advice on how to work differently to achieve better workflow and job satisfaction. Additionally, working in a team with strong collaboration and a commitment to solving tasks in the best possible way is very fulfilling. We think big and aim to create processes that are as generic as possible so that future changes can be implemented quickly and seamlessly.

3. How has your career developed since you started working here?

I started at the Contact Center in 2016, after a mentor from BI Norwegian Business School recommended the company as a workplace. At the Contact Center, I had great opportunities to collaborate with other teams in the company, including the case management team and invoice service. This gave me valuable insight into the various opportunities the company offers.

In 2018, I started as a case handler in the Retail team, and a few years later, I received a debt collection license issued by the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway. This entailed greater professional responsibility for ensuring the company complies with applicable laws and regulations. After a few years with increased responsibility, I wanted new challenges and the opportunity to change fields. In 2022, I started as a Process Analyst/Business Developer in the Process Automation team. In this role, I have had the opportunity to take additional courses in project management at BI Norwegian Business School, funded by my employer. This opportunity has provided me with a deeper understanding of working in project and process management.

“The most rewarding thing is to build a culture of good cohesion, and see that we succeed as a team”

Meet Karoline: The team leader with a focus on unity and development.

1. Can you provide a brief description of what you do and what your responsibilities are?

I’m a Team Leader for Contact Center Invoice Services, which includes 18 skilled advisors. Our team specializes in providing customer and invoice support for our clients. This means that we handle the entire customer service for some clients and the invoice support for others. My responsibilities include team management, competency development, and process improvements. Additionally, I ensure we meet our agreed KPIs with our clients by prioritizing resources appropriately. I also maintain close communication with our clients and often attend client meetings alongside the Key Account Manager (KAM) and Service Manager.

2. How has your career developed since you started working here?

I began my journey at Kredinor in the Contact Center in 2015. I worked full-time until I started my master’s in economics and management, and then I started working part-time on the Backoffice evening team. After completing my master’s degree, I had the opportunity to take over as the leader for the Backoffice evening team. I enjoyed leading a talented group of students for five years. In 2022, I had the opportunity to become the head of Trade and Shared Services. At that time, I managed the largest department in Opeations with 77 employees and had five people reporting directly to me. Following the merger and reorganization, I had the chance to learn more about invoice services and became the Team Leader of Contact Center Invoicing Services, where I still am today. This is an exciting area that is growing rapidly. I am very grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given and for Kredinor’s commitment to investing in its own employees!

3. What do you find most rewarding about your job as a team leader?

The most rewarding aspect is to build a culture of strong camaraderie and seeing us succeed as a team. It is also very exciting to follow the journeys of the advisors. Many starts as advisors in their early careers and have a significant development and are in leadership positions today. Seeing my team members grow and achieve their goals is really rewarding.

4. What can your team members expect from you as a leader?

As a leader, I care about and support my team members in their development. I am always available to spar and support them and provide “freedom with responsibility” to help them grow in their roles. I am committed to creating a safe, positive and engaging work environment where collaboration and mutual support are central focus.
